A two-year letterwinner for head coach Jeff Woody at Brookville High School where he played running back, cornerback and returned punts and kicks ... starting defensive back and kick returner on Brookville's 2011 and 2012 AA Division 3 state championship team ... was the starting running back on the 2012 state title team ... rushed for 1,090 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior captain in 2012 ... averaged 9.8 yards per carry ... posted 565 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns for a 22.6 yards per catch average ... on defense registered 50 tackles, 39 of which were solo stops ... made one sack, three interceptions and broke up seven passes ... have five tackles for a loss ... first-team All-Seminole District as a running back and defensive back ... first-team Lynchburg News & Advance as a running back and defensive back ... second-team all-region ... also ran track at Brookville where he was a AA state champion in the 4x200 (indoor) and 4x100 (outdoor) ... member of the National Honors Society and was an officer in the Latin Club ... son of Wayne Carter and Eva Carter of Lynchburg, Va., and Garfield and Andrea Calloway of Forest, Va. ... has six brothers and sisters ... older brother Stacey Houston played football at Davidson College in 2010 ... major is undeclared and is currently studying in UVA's College of Arts and Sciences.
