WORTH NOTING: Very athletic player … multi-talented
linebacker … adept at blitzing and pass coverage … can
go far downfield in pass coverage, isolated against a
flanker or running back … returned in 2000 after not play-ing
the season before due to personal reasons and had a
very good season … career-high 109 tackles, one of three
Cavaliers to top the century mark … that marked just the
second time in school history that three players had at
least 100 tackles (1994 was the first time) … finished his
career with 245 tackles, 17th in school history … ended
the 2000 season on a high note, averaging 12.0 tackles in
the last four games and reaching double figures each time.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
2000—Turned in a very good season which was made all
the more remarkable by the fact that he didn’t play the pre-vious
season … took some time getting back into the flow,
but broke into the starting line-up in the fourth week of the
season … made a career-high 109 tackles, including 64
solo stops … ranked eighth in the ACC in tackling with an
average of 9.9 tackles per game … opened the season as
a back-up to Angelo Crowell for the first three games …
had seven tackles in his first game back against Brigham
Young … 12 tackles against Richmond in the second
week was a career high at the time … had 11 tackles in
win over Duke in his final game as a reserve … eight
stops in first start vs. Clemson … that was the first of four
consecutive games where he failed to reach double figures
… made 12 tackles in a big win over North Carolina and
10 the next game against Georgia Tech … had two tackles
for loss vs. UNC … made a career-high 13 tackles, includ-ing

1998—Started all 11 regular season games and against
Georgia in the Peach Bowl … third on the team in tackles
with 85 (47 solo, 38 assists), tied for 20th in the ACC in

total tackles with 51 (28 solo, 23 assists) ... had three tack-les
for losses and broke up two passes ... was in on a sea-son-
high 10 tackles, six unassisted, in Virginia’s 34-20
