2000—Turned in a very good season which was made all the more remarkable by the fact that he didn’t play the pre-vious season … took some time getting back into the flow, but broke into the starting line-up in the fourth week of the season … made a career-high 109 tackles, including 64 solo stops … ranked eighth in the ACC in tackling with an average of 9.9 tackles per game … opened the season as a back-up to Angelo Crowell for the first three games … had seven tackles in his first game back against Brigham Young … 12 tackles against Richmond in the second week was a career high at the time … had 11 tackles in win over Duke in his final game as a reserve … eight stops in first start vs. Clemson … that was the first of four consecutive games where he failed to reach double figures … made 12 tackles in a big win over North Carolina and 10 the next game against Georgia Tech … had two tackles for loss vs. UNC … made a career-high 13 tackles, includ-ing eight solo stops, in an important win over N.C. State … tied his career high with 13 tackles against Virginia Tech in the final regular season game … started against Georgia in the O’ahu Bowl in his final college game and finished with six tackles, including one for a loss … earned third letter.

1998—Started all 11 regular season games and against Georgia in the Peach Bowl … third on the team in tackles with 85 (47 solo, 38 assists), tied for 20th in the ACC in tackles … had eight tackles for loss, third on the team … his three quarterback sacks were second among UVa line-backers … also broke up two passes, caused two fumbles and recovered another … had some coverage responsibili-ties against N.C. State’s All-American Torry Holt as the Cavaliers limited him to four catches for a season-low 33 yards ... had at least seven tackles in nine games, includ-ing a season-high 11 against North Carolina … led the team with 10 stops against Clemson, his first double-digit performance of the season … had seven tackles in four consecutive games (Duke, San Jose State, Georgia Tech, N.C. State) … had at least one tackle for loss in five straight games (San Jose State through Florida State) … recorded the first quarterback sack of his career against San Jose State … also added sacks against Wake Forest and Florida State … had a big game against Wake Forest, recording eight tackles, seven of them solo … also broke up a pass and caused a fumble ... in addition to his 11 tackles against North Carolina, he also broke up a pass ... was in on 10 tackles in the Peach Bowl ... lettered for the second time.

1997—Started five games (Auburn, Richmond, North Carolina, Clemson and Virginia Tech) at outside linebacker ... played but did not start against Duke, Florida State, Maryland, Georgia Tech and N.C. State ... did not play against Wake Forest due to an injury ... finished sixth in total tackles with 51 (28 solo, 23 assists) ... had three tack-les for losses and broke up two passes ... was in on a sea-son- high 10 tackles, six unassisted, in Virginia’s 34-20 season-finale win over Virginia Tech ... posted nine tack-les, including four solo stops, in UVa’s 21-7 road victory over Clemson ... was in on seven tackles, five unassisted, in Virginia’s season opener against Auburn ... lettered.

1996—Red-shirted ... did not play in a game ... in uniform for regular season games against Central Michigan, Texas, and North Carolina, and against Miami in the Carquest Bowl.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played defensive tackle, offensive tackle and tight end for head coach Mike Smith at Hampton High School ... began playing organized football his junior year ... posted a team-high 26 quarterback sacks his senior year, helping lead Hampton to the AAA state championship ... had six sacks and recovered two fumbles as a junior ... earned All-State, All-Region and All-Peninsula District hon-ors as a senior ... named Virginia Defensive Player of the Year by the Newport News Daily Press ... rated one of the Top 25 prospects in Virginia by the Roanoke Times ... selected to the Virginia High School League East All-Star team on defense.
