Kevin Parks and freshman backup Daniel Hamm each ran for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns as Virginia defeated VMI 49-0 on Saturday.

WORTH NOTING: Powerful runner who adds an extra dimension to the offense when he's on the field ...operates well out of the one back ... expected to be the starting tailback this season ... led ACC fullbacks in rushing for the second year in a row with 325 yards last fall ...that is the most yards by a UVa fullback since Charles Way ran for 517 yards in 1994 ... graduated in May with a degree in anthropology and will compete as a graduate student this season.

AT VIRGINIA: 2005- Played in every game for the first time in his career ... only started three times as the offense frequently opened in a two-tight end or three-wide receiver set, but was the team's primary fullback ...second on the team in rushing with a career-high 325 yards ... 21st in the ACC in rushing and tops among league fullbacks ...averaged 5.6 yards per carry, the fourth-best mark in the ACC among players with at least 150 yards ... was only been thrown for a loss four times ... second among league fullbacks behind Miami's Quadtrine Hill in receiving with 19 receptions for 140 yards ... bulled his way for team-leading 72 yards on just seven carries in the season opener vs. Western Michigan ...only had six carries in the next six games, but caught eight passes in that time ...had a big five-yard carry on fourth-and-one at the Syracuse 10-yard line to UVa's game-winning drive alive ... also caught three passes for 23 yards vs. the Orange ...had the best game of his career with a big performance against Temple rolling late in the first quarter when he showed outstanding speed and open field running to score from 32 yards out on his second carry ...notched a second touchdown on a seven-yard burst in the third quarter in his first multi-touchdown performance ...rushed for a career-high 126 yards on just 17 attempts against the Owls to become the first UVa fullback to rush for 100 yards since Charles Way had 132 vs. N.C. State in 1994 ... was effective the next week against Georgia Tech, particularly on UVa's game-winning touchdown drive in the fourth quarter ...on that drive he carried five times for 36 yards and ended with Deyon Williams' 21-yard touchdown catch ... for the game, he gained 48 yards on nine carries ...had four receptions for 26 yards against Virginia Tech ...also played on the kickoff return and punt teams ... earned his third letter.

2004--Returned to action after redshirting in 2003 ... team's starting fullback ...started the first five games, but was injured early in the Clemson game and missed the next five games ... came back against Virginia Tech in the final regular season game ...appeared in seven games, starting six ... rushed for 189 yards and one score ... averaged 7.3 yards per rush, the third-best average in the ACC among players who rushed for at least 100 yards ...led ACC fullbacks in rushing ... was a major factor in the passing game in 2002, but caught only five passes during the season ...gained 36 yards on six carries and caught one pass in his return against Temple ... led the team in rushing with 80 yards on just eight carries against North Carolina ...broke loose for a season-long 25-yard run and also scored on a 5-yard run ... gained seven yards against Akron and 15 vs. Syracuse ... carried once for five yards in limited action in his return vs. Virginia Tech ...rushed five times for 46 yards (9.2 average) against Fresno State in the MPC Computers Bowl ... also caught two passes in the game for 10 yards ... lettered.

2002--Worked slowly into the rotation ... didn't see much action in the first month but was a major contributor from then on ...played in 12 games ... made his biggest contributions as a pass receiver, but was also a special teams standout ... third on the team with 31 receptions and fifth with 314 yards ... rushed just nine times for 38 yards ... added to the kickoff team following the bye week prior to the Akron game and made 12 tackles in nine games in kick coverage to rank second on the team ... caught the first pass of his career, a five-yarder, against Colorado State in his college debut ...scored his first touchdown on a one-yard pass from Matt Schaub in the second quarter of the homecoming win over Akron ... it was just the second touch of his career ... finished the game with two receptions for 17 yards ... also made a tackle on his first kickoff coverage play in that game ... caught five passes for 71 yards against Duke ... scored the game-winning touchdown on an 18-yard swing pass from Schaub ... had an amazing six tackles, including three solo stops, on the kickoff team in the dramatic come-from-behind win over North Carolina ... led the team in rushing and receiving against Georgia Tech ... gained a season-high 14 yards on the ground in his only carry and 93 yards on eight receptions ... scored the team's first touchdown in the third quarter ... hauled in seven catches for 76 yards and one touchdown in the win over Maryland ...rushed twice for 12 yards against Virginia Tech in the last regular season game, missed the Continental Tire Bowl vs. West Virginia due to illness ... lettered.
