Zach Tenuta is in his second season as a graduate assistant football coach at Virginia. He works with UVa’s defensive ends.
Tenuta came to Virginia after one season as a defensive assistant at Middle Creek High School in Apex, N.C. In his inaugural coaching season in 2013, Tenuta helped the Mustangs to a 12-3 record and an appearance in the 4AA state semifinal game.
A standout football and lacrosse player at Walton High School in Marietta, Ga., Tenuta continued his football-playing career at Marshall and Akron as a tight end.
Tenuta’s parents, Jon and Dori, are both graduates of the University of Virginia. Tenuta has two younger brothers, Matt and Luke.
Tenuta is a 2013 graduate of Marshall with a degree in general studies. He is pursuing a master’s degree at UVa.
