CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia inside linebacker Micah Kiser has been named a semifinalist for the 2016 Lott IMPACT Trophy, announced the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation. Kiser is the only player from the ACC out of the 10 semifinalists.
The award goes to a college football defensive player who has had the biggest IMPACT on his team both and off the field. IMPACT stands for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

On the season Kiser has 102 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, four fumbles forced, two fumbles recovered and his six pass breakups rank No. 3 nationally among linebackers. His four fumbles forced ranks No. 5 nationally and No. 3 in the ACC. Kiser has also been named a semifinalist for the Butkus Award and is a 2016 CoSIDA District Academic All-American.
A National Voter Panel, made up of former coaches, players, selected media and previous Lott IMPACT Trophy winners, will select four finalists as well as the winner.
