The Virginia men's golf team is tied with 14th-ranked East Tennessee State for 11th place after the opening round of Florida State's Seminole Intercollegiate. The Cavaliers shot 14-over 302 led by Conrad Von Borsig's 2-over 74. Von Borsig, who led UVa in scoring during the team's last two outings, is in 26th place entering Monday's second round.
A trio of UVa players shot 4-over 76 to tie for 38th overall. That group includes Daniel Kefale, Eamonn McLoughlin and Kyle Stough. Greg Carlin finished the first round in 61st place with a 7-over 79.
Mississippi State and Auburn are tied for first place at 2-over 290. The College of Charleston is third at 293. NC State's Brad Revell shot 5-under 67 to hold a two-shot lead at the top of the individual leaderboard.
The tournament runs through Tuesday.
