USC Aiken's Matt Atkins is one shot behind him in second place.

Virginia had team scores of 11-over 291 and 3-over 283 for a first-day total of 574. South Carolina leads the field at 570 followed by NC State at 571. Augusta State is tied with UVa and those two schools have a three-shot advantage over Clemson and Liberty.
