AIKEN, S.C. - Virginia junior Mike Mitchell birdied the final two holes to win the Cleveland Golf Collegiate Challenge at the Palmetto Golf Course today. The win was Mitchell's first collegiate win as he paced Virginia to a second place finish among 15 teams.

Mitchell fired the day's lowest round of 69 to finish with 207, one stroke ahead of Brad Hastings of Coastal Carolina.

Augusta State won the team honors with a total of a three-under par 849 and 13 strokes ahead of Virginia which finished with 862.

Other finishers for Virginia were James Driscoll who finished in a tie for 10th place with 215 (+2), Cameron Yancey finished in a tie for 34th place with 221 (+8), Steve Marino finished in a tied for 53rd place with 226 (+13) and Justin Goodhue finished 57th with 227 (+14).
