Von Borsig Continues to Lead UVa Golfers

Evans, GA - Sophomore Conrad Von Borsig shot 1-over 73 for the second consecutive day to lead the Virginia golfers competing at the Administaff Augusta State Invitational. Von Borsig, who entered the tournament with UVa's best scoring average (74.22), is 30th overall at 2-over 146. Virginia is tied with Notre Dame for 17th overall.

The Cavaliers shot 8-over 296 during the second round, a two-shot improvement over their opening round effort. Despite the improved results, the Cavaliers dropped back two spots to tie with Notre Dame for 17th overall. Virginia's 36-hole score stands at 594. At the top of the leaderboard North Carolina built its leads to nine shots at 560. Coastal Carolina is second at 569.

While Von Borsig's 73 led UVa Saturday, Greg Carlin and Daniel Kefale were one shot behind him with 74s. Kyle Stough carded a 75 and Eamonn McLoughlin shot 76. McLoughlin is 50th overall at 149 while Stough is 60th at 150. Carlin is 68th at 151 and Kefale enters Sunday's final round 74th at 152.

Coastal Carolina's Dustin Johnson leads the field in stroke play at 136 after shooting back-to-back 68s.
