Raleigh, N.C. - The Virginia men's golf team finished 12th at the Raleigh Intercollegiate on Sunday.

SMU finished as the top team with an 843, 9 under. The University of North Carolina and Tulsa both fired an 847 (-5) to tie for second. Wake Forest shot even par with a score of 852, placing fourth. The Cavaliers shot an 881 (+29).

Individually, Tulsa's Chris Noel captured medalist honors with a 207 (-6). Tennessee's David Skinns fired a 208 to place second. Tulsa's David Inglis, UNC's Richard Treis, and SMU's Stephen Sparolini all finished 4 under with a 209 to tie for third.

Cavalier Senior Justin Goodhue (Glastonbury, Conn.) fired a 218 (+5) to finish 38th. Freshman Brad Tilley (Chappaqua, N.Y.) finished 46th with a score of 221 (+8), while freshman Eamonn McLoughlin (Amityville, N.Y.) had a 223 (+10) to place 55th. Junior Jeremy Luce (Austin, Texas) shot 15 over with a 228 to finish 71st. Freshman Dan Gabel (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) followed behind in 72nd with a 229 (+16).

The Cavaliers next tourney will be the ACC Championship taking place at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C. from April 18-20.
