KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Virginia men's golf team finished fourth out of 15 teams in the Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions on Tuesday. In a rain-delayed final round, the Cavaliers were able to put up a score of 284 (E), the second lowest score of the day. The team finished with a two-day total score of 864 (+12).

Host Tennessee held its lead to take the overall team title at 853 (+1). Alabama finished in second at 858 (+6). East Tennessee State rounded out the top three at 862 (+10).

Georgia Southern's Aron Price shot his third consecutive 69 (-2) to claim medallist honors at 207 (-6). ETSU's Rhys Davies finished in second at 209 (-4), and five players tied for third at 210 (-3).

The Cavaliers were led by balanced scoring. Senior Kevin O'Connell (Potomac, Md.) came back with a 68 (-3) to tie for 10th at 213 (E). Sophomore Dan McGurk (Woodlands, Tex.) finished one stroke back, at 214 (+1), to tie for 12th. Junior Brad Tilley (Chappaqua, N.Y.) came in another stroke back with a 215 (+2) to tie for 14th. Junior Carter Henderson (Nashville, Tenn.) tied for 54th at 225 (+12), and freshman Greg Carlin tied for 71st at 232 (+19).

The Cavaliers return to action November 1-3 at the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate in Kahuku, Hawaii.
