DURHAM, N.C. - The Virginia men's golf team finished seventh at the Duke Golf Classic on Tuesday.

Augusta State, which stood third after the first two rounds, shot a round low 282 to take the team championship with a 866 (+2). Host Duke was second with a 874 (+10), while Illinois claimed third with a 882 (+18). The Cavaliers shot their tourney low round of 293 during the final 18 holes to card a 898 (+34).

Individually, Augusta State's Oliver Wilson fired a four-under 68 in the final round to capture medalist honors with a 209 (-7). Virginia Tech's Brendon De Jonge followed by two strokes with a 211 (-5), while Duke's Mike Castleforte finished third with a 212 (-4).

Senior Justin Goodhue (Glastonbury, Conn.) paced the Cavaliers with a 220 (+4) to tie for 13th place. He shot a two-under 70 in the final round. Senior Thomas Lee (Gluttenburg, N.J.) tied for 25th with a 225 (+9), while freshman Brad Tilley (Chappaqua, N.Y.) was 31st with a 227 (+11). Junior Jeremy Luce (Austin, Texas) followed by one stroke to card a 228 (+12). Freshman Eamon McLoughlin (Amityville, N.Y.) shot a 239 (+23).

Virginia closes out its fall slate on Nov. 4-5 at the Hawaii Intercollegiate in Kahuku, Hawaii.
