ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Two members of the Virginia men's golf team placed in the top 13 at the New Year's Invitational, played at the par-72 St. Petersburg (Fla.) Country Club on Jan. 8.

Freshman Conrad Von Borsig (Swarthmore, Pa. ) tied for 10th with a 292 (+4), while junior Eamonn McLoughlin (Amityville, N.Y.) followed by one stroke with a 293 (+5) to tie for 13th.

Vanderbilt's Luke List shot a 71 in the final round to capture medalist honors with a seven-under 281. The 2004 U.S. Amateur runner-up, List finished two shots ahead of University of Tennessee golfer Jonathan Mount, who shot a five-under 283. Tarik Can and Michael Wilson finished tied for third at 285 (-3).

Virginia opens its spring slate at the Seminole Intercollegiate on March 5-7 in Tallahassee, Fla.
