Tallahassee, FL The Virginia men’s golf team is one shot out of first place entering Sunday’s final round of play at Florida State’s Seminole Intercollegiate. Virginia shot 6-under 282 for a two-day total of 571 to trail No. 28 Mississippi for the second straight day by a single stroke. Vanderbilt is third at 576 while the host Seminoles are fourth at 581. Arkansas, the event’s top-ranked team at No. 18, is in fifth place at 583.
UVa’s Conrad Von Borsig is one of three players tied for first place overall at 5-under 139. He shot 1-under 71 Saturday after opening with a 4-under 68. Vanderbilt’s Ryan Haselden and Misssissippi’s Joe David share the lead with the Cavalier senior.
Virginia’s Steven Rojas and Will Collins are also in the top-10 entering the final round. Rojas shot 2-under 70 and is sixth at 142. Collins also posted a 2-under score during the second round and moved up to 10th at 144.
Kyle Stough was the fourth UVa player to finish the second round under par, shooting 1-under 71, to move up to 15th overall at 146. Ben Kohles shot 75 for the second straight day and is 36th at 150. Cole Willcox, playing as a non-scoring individual, is 20th at 147.
