UVa Men's Golfers Shoot 11-Under and Remain in Fourth Place

Statesboro, GA - Despite turning in a round of 11-under par, the 17th-ranked Virginia men's golf team remained in fourth place after the second round of play at the Schenkel Invitational. The tournament is taking place at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.

Virginia posted a score of 11-under 277 Saturday for a two-day total of 11-under 565. Auburn continues to lead the 15-team field at 22-under 554. Florida is second at 560 and LSU is third at 564.

The Cavaliers had four golfers shoot under par during the second round, including three scores of 69. Ben Kohles continues to lead Virginia. He carded a 3-under 69 and moved up to fourth place at 5-under 139. Amory Davis, Ben Rusch and Bruce Woodall are all tied for 15th at 2-under 142. Davis and Rusch shot 69s Saturday and Woodall carded a round of 70. Will Collins is in 32nd place at 145. He shot even par 72.

Florida's Bank Vongvanij leads the field at 10-under 134. Auburn's Niclas Carlsson is second at 136.

The final round of the tournament scheduled for Sunday. Virginia will tee off starting at 8:45 a.m.
