UVa Golfers Open Play at Bulls Bay in Second Place

Awendaw, SC Battling windy playing conditions, the Virginia men’s golf team finished the opening round at the Hootie @ Bulls Bay tournament in second place. The Cavaliers shot 4-over 288 and trail Augusta State by two shots heading into Monday’s second round. The 15-team field includes nine teams currently ranked in Golfstat’s top-50.

Virginia was led by Will Collins’ 3-under 69 that placed him into a tie for third overall following the opening 18 holes. Conrad Von Borsig was 11th at 1-over 72, Ben Kohles was 17th at 73, Kyle Stough was 24th at 74 and Cole Willcox finished the first day 68th at 80.

Augusta State’s Janne Kaske leads the tournament at 4-under 67.

The Cavaliers will tee off at 10:40 a.m. during the second round. The final 18 holes of play are scheduled for Tuesday.
