Raleigh, NC -The No. 20 Virginia men's golf team is in eighth place following Friday's opening two rounds of play at the NC State's Wolfpack Intercollegiate in Raleigh, N.C. The Cavaliers shot 15-over 299 during Friday's first round and shot 294 in the second round to finish the day at 593. North Carolina leads the field at 578, seven shots ahead of NC State. The tournament is being played on the Wolfpack's new Lonnie Poole Golf Course.

Virginia was led by Amory Davis who is in 12th place at 4-over 146. He had rounds of 76 and 70. Kyle Stough is 24th at 148, Steven Rojas is 44th at 151 and Ben Kohles and Will Collins are tied for 60th at 153.
