The No. 48 Virginia men's golf team will play in the 65th annual Atlantic Coast Conference Championships April 20-22 at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C. UVA is the No. 9 seed at this year's event.

The championship will get underway on Friday at 9 a.m. with NC State, Louisville and Virginia starting on hole 10 and Florida State, Wake Forest and reigning champion Duke on hole one. Boston College, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame start at 10 a.m. on hole 10, while Clemson, Georgia Tech and North Carolina go off at 10 a.m. from hole one.

Nine ACC teams enter the championship ranked in the Golfstat Top 50, with Georgia Tech leading the way at No. 5 followed by No. 15 Clemson, No. 17 North Carolina, No. 19 Florida State, No. 28 Wake Forest, No. 29 Duke, No. 35 NC State, No. 47 Louisville, and No. 48 Virginia.

Virginia's lineup includes senior Danny Walker (Bradenton, Fla.), junoir Thomas Walsh (High Point, N.C.) and sophomores Andrew Orischak (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) and Ashton Poole (Charlotte, N.C.) and freshman Jimmie Massie (Lynchburg, Va.).

Walsh leads the team with a 71.07 stroke average and has topped the Hoos in scoring in six of the team's last eight tournaments.

Virginia has never won the event, but was the runner-up in 1958, 1996, 2010 and 2012. Pete Arend won the individual title in 1955, Ben Rusch won it in 2012 and Jimmy Stanger took the crown last year, winning a one-hole, four-player playoff.

This year marks the 21st time overall that the league championship will be held at the Old North State Club. Wake Forest leads all schools with 18 league titles and 22 individual champions. Georgia Tech, which has won 14 outright ACC Championships and shared two more, has produced 11 individual medalists. North Carolina is third with 11 titles (10 outright), followed by Clemson with 10 (nine outright).

The tournament will be carried live on ACC Network Extra beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday, with Mac McDonald and Brandon Turner on the call. There is no charge for admission for fans.
