Atlanta, Ga. - Virginia junior Ashton Poole (Charlotte, N.C.) picked up a significant win on the summer amateur circuit, taking medalist honors at the 2018 Dogwood Invitational at Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.

Poole finished the 72-hole event at 22-under 266, four shots ahead of Duke's Chandler Eaton. Poole had rounds of 69, 66, 64 and 67. He entered Saturday's final round with a one-stroke lead.

The Dogwood Invitational dates back to 1941 and is an invitation only event.

By virtue of winning the tournament, Poole receives an exemption to the Australian Master of the Amateurs tournament in January at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
