McCarthy Named to All-State Team

Denny McCarthy

Charlottesville, Va. - Virginia sophomore golfer Denny McCarthy (Rockville, Md.) has been named to the Virginia Collegiate Golf Coaches Association's All-State team. McCarthy earned honorable mention All-America honors by PING Golf and All-ACC and All-East Regional honors during the 2012-13 season. He qualified for the NCAA Championships where he placed 22nd.

McCarthy led the Cavaliers with a 72.31 stroke average and topped the team in scoring five times during the season. He took top honors at the Northern Open at the start of the season and was the runner-up at the NCAA Columbus Regional.
