Men's Golf Adds Assistant Coach

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.— Chris Wallace, a 1996 graduate of Lynchburg College, has been named assistant men’s golf coach at the University of Virginia.

During his college career, Wallace was a three-year captain and recorded five, top-five finishes. Two of those top-five finishes included a win at the 1995 Bridgewater Fall Invitational and a second place finish in the 1995 Lynchburg Fall Invitational. In addition, he was named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference Academic Team three times.

Wallace most recently worked for the Charlottesville Daily Progress where he wrote a weekly golf column and was the beat writer for the University of Virginia men’s basketball and men's soccer teams for the past three years.

The Cavaliers, who finished third at The Ridges Golf Tournament last weekend, host the Cavalier Classic at Birdwood Golf Course on Sept. 19-20.
