Charlottesville,Va - Wake Forest shot 11 under par and holds a 13-stroke advantage in the 1999 Cavalier Classic at the Birdwood Golf Course (72 par, 6,820 yards). Tennessee and host Virginia hold onto second place after finishing two over par. Wake Forest's Jay Morgan was six-under par after the first round to help the Demon Deacons to a comfortable lead. Morgan shot 70 in the first round and fired the day's low round of 68 in the second 18 holes of the day. Kirk Straughen of VCU also shot a low round of 68 today.
Virginia's James Driscoll fired rounds of 70 and 71 today and is in a three-way tie for third place going into the final round of action on Monday. Driscoll is tied with Jeff Curl of UNC-Charlotte and Buck Williams of Wake Forest
Play resumes tomorrow, Sept. 20 at 7:30 a.m. at the Birdwood Golf Course.
