WORTH NOTING: Was having a very good fall before injuring his ankle and missing the scrimmages ... continues to work very hard to prepare himself for the opportunity to play according to the coaches.

AT VIRGINIA: 2006--Teamed with All-American Kip Turner to give UVa an outstanding pair of goalies ... played in 12 games ... had a 51.9 save percentage and an 8.57 goals allowed average ... five saves in just seven minutes against Drexel ... played the entire second half in the win over Syracuse and finished with a career-high six saves, all in the fourth quarter ... made the biggest play of the quarter as he stuffed Joe Yevoli's point blank effort at 12:13 give the defense a much needed lift ... tied his career high of six saves in a 15-minute stint against Maryland ... saw playoff action against Georgetown and UMass.

2005--Played in eight games as the top back-up to Turner ... played 100 minutes and had a 40.7 save percentage ... started the second half of the opener against Drexel and made three saves ... started the Manhattan game and had three saves before giving way to Turner for the second half ... made two saves in 12 minutes of action against Albany in the NCAA tournament.

2004--Came in with an ankle injury suffered during the summer while with the U.S. Under-19 team and was redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Five-year starter ... two-time All-American ... three-time all-state and all-prep league selection ... his team won the state championship his junior year as he was named the tournament MVP ... All-Ohio at Wooster HS as an eighth grader ... played three years of soccer as forward and goalkeeper ... freshman class vice president.

PERSONAL: Son of Sally and Jim Petit ... born 5-6-84 in Chicago, Ill. ... has three older brothers, Nick, Matt and Kit ... has worked at various lacrosse summer camps ... plays the drums ... majoring in studio art.
