CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s lacrosse team returns to action on Tuesday night as the Cavaliers (2-0) host the Siena Saints (0-2) in a mid-week tussle at Klöckner Stadium. Faceoff is set for 6 p.m. UVA is ranked No. 6 along with Syracuse in this week’s USILA coaches poll and No. 7 in the Inside Lacrosse/Maverick media poll.

Virginia and Siena are meeting for the first time and the Cavaliers only other game against a current MAAC opponent came in 2005 when UVA defeated Manhattan, 18-2, at UHall Turf Field. All-time against MAAC teams Virginia is 15-0. The Cavaliers went 7-0 against Mount St. Mary’s when the Mountaineers were members of the MAAC. UVA also was 7-0 against in-state foe VMI when the Keydets (2006-12) were associate members in the MAAC for lacrosse.

Zed Williams leads UVA with eight assists and 11 points. Mike D’Amario is tops on the team with eight goals and second with nine points. Dox Aitken rounds out the top goal-scorers with seven goals and eight points. Williams, Ryan Conrad and Jared Conners all share the team lead with 10 ground balls. Will Railey is saving 39.5 percent of shots between the pipes and posting a 15.33 goals against average.

Siena head coach John Svec is in his sixth season in charge of the Saints, and returns 24 letterwinners and six starters off last year’s 3-10 team. Siena has dropped both games its played this year, losing at Syracuse (19-6) and at Hobart (16-15).  Mike Reilly leads the Saints with six points on two goals and four assists. Brian Prunty leads the team with four goals, while Chris Robertson rounds out the top goal-scorers with three goals. Aaron Lewis is saving 39.3 percent of shots in the cage and posting a 17.31 goals against average. 

The Cavaliers play next on Saturday when they travel to Philadelphia to face No. 17 Penn. The game is set to faceoff at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN3.

Reserved seats for men's home games are on sale for $10. Single-game general admission adult tickets for men's home games are $8, while youth (18 and under), seniors (60 and over), and UVA faculty and staff tickets are $6 each. General admission tickets for groups of 20 or more are priced at $4.
