CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Three members of UVa's men's lacrosse team were named to the 2015 All-ACC Academic Men's Lacrosse Team, announced by ACC Commissioner John Swofford. Senior attackman Owen Van Arsdale leads the UVa honorees with his fourth career nod. Senior midfielder Ryan Tucker was recognized for the third time, while senior defenseman Davi Sacco earned his first career honor. All three Cavaliers were also named USILA Scholar All-Americans.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

Van Arsdale is one of two honorees on this year's 33-man All-ACC Academic team that own four career nods. Tucker is one of four honorees with at least three career accolades.

Sacco (Fayetteville, N.Y.) started all 15 games at close defense and led UVa with 23 caused turnovers. A former walk-on, Sacco was named a captain in the middle of the season. He also picked up 27 ground balls. Sacco was named a USILA honorable mention All-American.

Tucker (Towson, Md.) started all 15 games on the first midfield and finished with 25 goals and 11 assists. The captain's 77 career goals places Tucker at No. 8 all-time among Cavalier midfielders. Tucker was named a USILA second-team All-American.

Van Arsdale (Charlottesville, Va.) was third on the team with 40 points, via 25 goals and 15 assists. The captain started 55 of his 62 career games. Van Arsdale concludes his career with 124 career points, courtesy of 56 goals and 68 assists.

Blount Eager to Assume Larger Role
The job will not be handed to rising sophomore Joey Blount. He'll have to earn it. This is head coach Bronco Mendenhall's program, after all. But after spending the 2017 season as free safety Quin Blanding's understudy, Blount is the leading candidate to take over in the secondary for the University of Virginia's all-time leading tackler.
