Virginia Beats No.3 Duke

DURHAM, N.C.--The sixth ranked Virginia men's soccer team defeated the third ranked Duke Blue Devils Saturday evening 2-0.

Virginia senior Andryl Shapowl scored the game-winning goal just 15:09 into the match on a free kick. The victory, which was the first shut out the Blue Devils have suffered all year, prevented Duke from clinching the ACC regular season title. The Duke loss also snaps a six-game winning streak for the Blue Devils.

Virginia improves to 10-2-3 overall and 3-1-2 in conference play. Duke falls to 13-3 overall and 4-2 in the ACC.
