CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia men's soccer program announced today its 2014-15 recruiting class. The class includes eight student-athletes who will join an experienced squad which advanced to the 2013 NCAA College Cup.
The 2014-15 class, with hometown, high school and club team:
Jeff Caldwell (Todd, N.C./Watauga/NC Fusion)
Julian Cummings (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford/DC United Academy)
Steven Gandy (Gainesville, Va./Patriot/DC United Academy)
Liam Jenkins (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin/Richmond Strikers)
Nate Odusote (North Haledon, N.J./Hawthorne Christian/NY Red Bulls Academy)
Peter Pearson (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry/Beach FC)
Jake Rozhansky (Germantown, Md./Montgomery Blair/Olney B&G)
Fabrice Shema (Louisville, Ky./Waggener/River City Rovers)
"We are thrilled to welcome this class to Virginia," Virginia head coach George Gelnovatch said. "We feel that the members of this class are extremely talented and fit in well with our program. We are excited for them to arrive on Grounds and join us for the 2014 season."
Gelnovatch added that UVa anticipates adding another signee during the spring signing period.
The student-athletes join the Virginia program which loses just two starters from its 2013 team which advanced to the NCAA College Cup and reached the ACC championship game. UVa has won six national championships and 15 ACC titles and also has appeared in 33-consecutive NCAA tournaments - the longest current streak in the nation.
