Monday's Exhibition at VCU Cancelled

Aug. 20, 2007

RICHMOND, Va. - With the threat of severe weather this evening, the Virginia Commonwealth men's soccer program has cancelled its exhibition contest against No. 5 Virginia, school officials announced.

The teams played 30 minutes of action on Sunday evening before lightning forced the postponement of the contest. The exhibition game will not be rescheduled.

Virginia hosts South Florida in exhibition action at Klöckner Stadium on Saturday, August 25 at 7 p.m. The season opener is slated for Friday, August 31 against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium.

Last season, the Cavaliers finished with a 17-4-1 overall record and reached the NCAA College Cup. Fifteen players, including six starters, return from that squad.
