Two Cavaliers Named Soccer America Preseason All-Americans

CHARLOTTESVILLE - Two members of the Virginia men's soccer team were honored Thursday by Soccer America as the magazine announced its preseason All-America squad. Forward Yannick Reyering (Mettingen, Germany) and midfielder Jonathan Villanueva (Grand Prairie, Texas) were named to the squad.

Virginia was one of four schools to place two players on the 23-player list. Reyering is one of seven forwards honored, while Villanueva was one of seven midfielders selcted.

Last season, Reyering led the team in scoring with 12 goals and eight assists for 32 points. Villanueva had three goals and five assists during his rookie season in 2006.

The Cavaliers open the season on Friday as they host Columbia at 7:30 p.m. The game is the second part of a soccer doubleheader at Klöckner Stadium, as the women's team plays Delaware at 5 p.m.
