This Week's Games: The Cavaliers open the home portion of the 2005 schedule tonight as they host Charlotte. Virginia is coming off a second place finish at the UCSB adidas Classic, defeating UC-Riverside 2-0 on Friday and playing host UCSB to a scoreless draw on Sunday. Charlotte is looking for its first win of the season after losses at Davidson and UNC-Greensboro to open the season.

The Series vs. Charlotte: Saturday's game is only the second all-time meeting between the Cavaliers and the 49ers. The only previous meeting came in 1989, when Virginia topped Charlotte 2-0 at Scott Stadium.

Against the Atlantic-10: Today's game is the only regular season game for the Cavaliers against an opponent from the Atlantic-10 Conference. The Cavaliers have a 24-3-3 all-time record against current members of the Atlantic 10 (Charlotte 1-0-0, George Washington 3-0-0, Rhode Island 2-0-0, Richmond 13-1-1, Saint Louis, 3-2-2, Temple 2-0-0).

Home Openers: Virginia enters Saturday night's game with a 43-15-3 record in home openers. Over the past 36 years, the Cavaliers have been nearly unbeatable in home openers, posting a 31-3-2 during that span.
