CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 17 Virginia men’s soccer team has a top-20 matchup on tap this weekend as No. 6 Clemson comes to Klöckner Stadium Saturday (Sept. 17) for a 7 p.m. ACC contest. It marks the Tigers’ first visit to Charlottesville since the 2012 season.
The match will stream live on ACC Network Extra, which is available to authenticated subscribers of ESPN3 through WatchESPN and the ESPN app. Live statistics (GameTracker) can be located at VirginiaSports.com. In-game updates will be provided on the UVA Men’s Soccer Twitter account, @UVAMenSoccer.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for youth, seniors and faculty/staff. Group ticket orders of 20 or more tickets are $4 (available in advance). Fans can purchase tickets in advance of game day on VirginiaSports.com to avoid lines at the box office prior to the match.
Free parking is available in the University Hall and John Paul Jones Arena lots.

Virginia owns a 27-24-5 edge in its all-time series with Clemson, which dates to 1968. Clemson has won three straight matches against UVA. The road team has won five of the last seven matches in the series. UVA and Clemson have not played since the 2014 regular season, with the Tigers scoring a 2-1 home win.
Barir Provides Boost Up Top
After playing in only one game last year as a freshman, Daniel Barir has played a huge role this season. A slick passer, Barir owns a team-high three assists after dishing out a pair on Wednesday against VCU. He is tied with three others for the ACC lead in assists. He has started all five matches at forward this season.
Opoku Off to Solid Start
Forward Edward Opoku has highlighted the UVA offense in the season’s early stages, leading the team with three goals as well as an assist. He is tied for sixth in the league in goals this year. Opoku has taken a team-high 14 shots and already has topped his goal total from a season ago (2).
Cavaliers Showcase Depth
Virginia has shown off its deep roster in the first four matches, playing at least 17 men in each contest. UVA used 21 men in the season-opening win against Coastal Carolina and Wednesday against VCU. The Cavaliers have played at least 17 in every game.
Defenders Robin Afamefuna and Sergi Nus and goalkeeper Jeff Caldwell have not stepped off the field yet this year. With 13 newcomers to the program, UVA has utilized five different starting lineups in its four matches.
After finishing as the NCAA runner-up to Stanford in 2015, Clemson is off to a solid start this year with a 3-1 record. Ranked No. 6 nationally, the Tigers have not played since dropping their ACC opener, 1-0, at home to then-No. 3 North Carolina on Sept. 9. Diego Campos leads Clemson with a pair of goals.
The Cavaliers continue ACC play next Friday (Sept. 24) with their first-ever trip to Louisville.
