Women's Results: California | John Hopkins

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- The Virginia men's and women's squash teams finished the Home Round Robin undefeated on Sunday (Feb. 4) at the McArthur Squash Center in Charlottesville, Va., with the No. 12 women's team (12-8) sweeping California and John Hopkins and the No. 14 men's team (14-6) defeating Vanderbilt.

"Both teams picked up where they left off yesterday and won out their remaining matches 9-0, sweeping this year's UVA Home Round Robin without dropping a single match," head coach Mark Allen said. "Nationals for the women are February 16 in Cambridge (Mass.) and nationals for the men are February 23 in Hartford (Conn.), and with no more scheduled matches between now and then, the teams will be getting down to some hard training in order to peak for the end of season championships."

The Cavalier women's team defeated California and John Hopkins, sweeping both matches 9-0. Individually, Virginia recorded a 3-0 victory in eight positions against California, capturing the ninth point from a team forfeit in position nine, before blanking all nine positions against John Hopkins.

Against John Hopkins, four Cavaliers would hold the Blue Jays to less than four points. Sophomore Lois Lo (HONG KONG) blanked position six, defeating Berkeley Song, 11-0, 11-0, 11-0. Sophomore Tara Arya (Cupertino, Calif.) defeated Nora Jandhyaia in position three, 11-1, 11-0, 11-1, while junior Molly Prockop (Groton, Mass.) topped position seven against Genevieve Thomas, 11-0, 11-1, 11-0. In her last match with Virginia, senior Grey Sylvester (New York, N.Y.) won position nine against Allie Pado, 11-0, 11-0, 11-3.

The Virginia men's team swept Vanderbilt, 9-0, capturing its fourth win of the tournament. Junior Grayson Bubrosky (New Canaan, Conn.) conceded only five points in position two, defeating Eugene Park, 11-2, 11-3, 11-0, while freshman Christian Kohlmeyer (Lake Forest, Ill.) won against Owen Fock in position eight, 11-1, 11-2, 11-2.
