Men's and Women's Tennis Teams Ranked in Preseason Polls

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA -- The men's and women's tennis teams at the University of Virginia are ranked in the Rolex Preseason Tennis Rankings.

The Cavalier men are ranked 29th in the preseason edition, while the Virginia women are ranked 52nd.

Brian Vahaly, considered the top men's recruit in the nation this year, is ranked 60th in the preseason individual rankings. The Atlanta, Ga., freshman reached the quarterfinals in both singles and doubles at the U.S. Open Junior Championships earlier this month. He also advanced to the quarterfinals of Junior Wimbledon in July.

The men's doubles tandem of Bear Schofield and Hyon Yoo is ranked 50th nationally in doubles.

Both programs participated in the NCAA Tournament last spring.
