Men's Tennis Falls to Wake Forest 5-2

March 28, 1998

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Wake Forest captured the doubles point and used the momentum from that to defeat Virginia 5-2 in men's tennis action at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center. The loss drops the Cavaliers to 9-5 overall (1-2 in the ACC).

Virginia's lone doubles win came from freshmen Brian Vahaly and Huntley Montgomery, who defeated Jimmy Chou and Andres Guzman at #2.

Virginia grabbed the lead as Hyon Yoo defeated Billy Gluck at #3 and John Winter downed Johan Hansen at #4. The Demon Deacons won all the remaining matches to claim the overall win. The Deacs won as Myles Clouston defeated Brian Vahaly in a third set tiebreaker at #1.
