Lizen also kept alive his run in the singles tournament, opening the day with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Longwood's Amadeo Blasco. Lizen will take on Penn State's Christos Antonopolous on Tuesday at 10 a.m. The winner will face either Virginia Tech's Alexandre Ribeiro or Old Dominion's Aziz Kijametovic in the final, which will be contested on Tuesday afternoon.
With the victory, Kijametovic and Musitelli automatically earn a spot at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships which will be held November 1-5, 2017, at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Lizen and Lord still have the possibility of earning a wildcard entry into the championship. The event, which serves as the conclusion of the fall collegiate tennis season, will include 128 of the nation's top collegiate singles players (64 men and 64 women) and 64 doubles teams (32 men's teams and 32 women's teams). The event replaces the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
