CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Virginia tennis fans are invited to enjoy a fun-filled evening on the court with the Virginia men's and women's tennis programs during Meet the Teams Day on Thursday, Jan. 19. This free event will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Boar's Head Sports Club.

Fans can meet and interact with select student-athletes and coaches. The event will feature activities, drills and games for all levels of tennis players and enthusiasts to enjoy. Participants planning to take part in on-court drills must wear appropriate sports attire and non-marking footwear.

Fans can pick up schedule posters for the 2017 season for both teams and participate in an autograph and photo session.

The Virginia women's team enters the season ranked No. 23 nationally and returns three players from last year's squad that advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Championships. The Cavaliers also welcome a top-five recruiting class with five newcomers on the squad. A pair of players are ranked nationally in singles with freshman Rosie Johanson (Abbotsford, British Columbia) and sophomore Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) ranked No. 79 and No. 124, respectively.

Virginia's women open the 2017 season at home on Saturday, Jan. 21, hosting Boston College at 11 a.m. at the Boar's Head Sports Club.

The top-ranked Virginia men's tennis team returns six players from the 2015 and 2016 NCAA Championship teams, including senior two-time All-Americans Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (Charlotte, N.C.) and Luca Corinteli (Alexandria, Va.).
