Devvarman and Huey Win USTA Futures Title

TAMPA, Fla. - Two members of the Virginia men's tennis team won the doubles title at the USTA Futures Event this week in Tampa, Fla. Juniors Somdev Devvarman (Chennai, India) and Treat Huey (Alexandria, Va.) took home the championship Saturday with a 6-0, 7-6 (6) win over James Cerretani and Antonio Ruiz.

The doubles title is the first of Devvarman's career, while it is the second of Huey's career. Huey teamed with former Old Dominion All-American Izak van der Merwe to win a USTA Futures Event in Buffalo, N.Y. in 2005.

The Cavaliers will begin the 2007 dual match season on January 24, when they visit William & Mary.
