The Virginia men's tennis team will be the No. 1 seed at ITA Indoors

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Seedings have been announced for the 2017 Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Men's Team Indoor Championship with all competition over the four-day event (Feb. 17-20) scheduled to take place at Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va.

Tournament host and top-seeded Virginia will face No. 16 Utah State in a first-round match on Friday, Feb. 17 at 6:30 p.m.

Admission to the tournament is free.

The ITA Division I National Men's Team Indoor Championship dates back to 1973. Stanford owns the most #ITAIndoors titles with 12, followed by UCLA with seven and the host Cavaliers with five championships. North Carolina claimed its first ITA National Indoors title in 2016, topping the host Cavaliers 4-2 in the final.

Fifteen teams qualified for the event by winning their respective 2017 ITA Kick-Off Weekend four-team regional, while Virginia received an automatic bid as the host site. Twelve of the 15 No. 1 seeds in the 2017 ITA Kick-Off Weekend advanced to the National Team Indoor Championship. The teams will compete in a single-elimination tournament over a four-day span to crown a national indoor champion. Each team is guaranteed three matches at the event.

FloTennis will be on site providing live streaming coverage of all four days of competition. FloTennis is a subscription-based service with monthly and annual rate options.
