Somdev Devvarman Becomes First Cavalier to Reach $1 Million in Career Earnings

CHARLOTTESVILLE - Somdev Devvarman (Class of 2008) became the first Virginia alumnus to accumulate $1 million in career earnings on the ATP Tour after reaching the second round of Roland Garros. Devvarman, who reached the main draw through qualifying before losing to Roger Federer in the main draw, moved up to No. 140 in this week's ATP singles rankings.

Devvarman will return to action this week at a ATP Challenger Tour event in Nottingham, England before beginning qualifying at Wimbledon the following week.

In doubles, Treat Huey (Class of 2008) moved up to a career-high No. 24 this week, the highest world ranking for a Cavalier. Dominic Inglot (Class of 2009) is at No. 38 this week, one spot shy of his career high. Huey and Inglot are the No. 4 seed at this week's Gerry Weber Open, an ATP 250 event in Halle, Germany.

Ted Angelinos (Class of 2008), who moved up to a career-high No. 366 ATP singles ranking this week, will compete at this week's Futures Tour event in Germany.
