FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. - The doubles team of Virginia alumni Treat Huey (Class of 2008) and Dom Inglot (Class of 2009) advanced to the second round of the US Open doubles draw with a first round victory Wednesday. Huey and Inglot topped American stars James Blake and Sam Querrey 6-1, 7-6(7) in the opening round.

It is the second Grand Slam tournament that Huey and Inglot have advanced at this year. In May they reached the round of 16 at Roland Garros. Earlier this month they won the Citi Open in Washington to become the first Cavaliers to win an ATP Tour title.

They will play No. 15 seed Alexander Peya of Austria and Bruno Soares of Brazil in the second round.

Also competing at the US Open was Somdev Devvarman (Class of 2008). Competing in his third match since his nine-month break due to injury, he fell to Spaniard Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
