Carl Söderlund Competing at Bluewater Bay Futures

NICEVILLE, Fla. - Virginia men's tennis player sophomore Carl Soderlund (Stockholm, Sweden) competed in the singles main draw at the Bluewater Bay Pro Circuit Championships, a USTA Futures Tournament being help Nov. 6 through Nov. 12 in Niceville, Fla.

Söderlund faced qualifier Paul Jubb of Great Britain in a first-round match on Tuesday (Nov. 7). Söderlund won the opening set, 6-1, but Jubb took the second set 6-2. The third set was deadlocked 6-6 to force a tiebreaker. Jubb rallied in the tiebreaker to take it 7-5 and advance to the second round.

Söderlund has two career Futures titles, winning the 2016 Rising Star Tour Futures Tournament in Karlskrona, Sweden and the 2015 Collector Norwegian Open.
