McGovern Places Fourth at World Team Trials

LAS VEGAS -- Assistant coach Jon McGovern placed fourth in the 187-pound class at the World Team Trials held in Las Vegas this weekend. With his finish, he ends the season ranked fifth nationally.

McGovern defeated Derek Jones of Minneapolis in his first round match 5-4 to advance to the semifinals. In his semifinal bout, he lost 4-0 to eventual champion Kevin Jackson, the Olympic Champion in 1992 and a two-time world champion.
