Nine Virginia wrestlers competed in the NCAA Championships Thursday (March 21).

2013 All-American - 157 pounds
2009, 2013 NCAA Qualifier - 157 pounds

AT VIRGINIA: 2011-12
• Went 19-7 during his redshirt junior season
• Moved back down to 157 pounds after spending previous season at 165
• Ranked No. 15 in final NCAA RPI and No. 23 in final NCAA Coaches rankings
• Won seven of last eight matches entering the postseason
• Three of his losses came to ranked foes (No. 1 Kyle Dake of Cornell, No. 5 Jesse Dong of Virginia Tech, No. 18 Corey Mock of UNC)
• Was 3-2 in ACC action (major decisions over Colton Palmer of NC State and Immanuel Kerr-Brown of Duke, and 5-3 decision over then-No. 11 Kyle John of Maryland)
• Earned ACC Wrestler of Week honors following win over John
• No. 2 seed at ACC Championships but did not place
• Won the NC State Open at 157 pounds (11/13)
• Took seventh at Southern Scuffle (1/1-2); defeated Virginia Tech's Matt Stephens, 4-0, in seventh-place bout

2010-11
• Went 8-6 during the second half of the season
• Returned to UVa lineup Jan. 16 after missing first two-plus months with foot injury
• Finished fourth at ACC Championships; scored wins by major decision and pin to give UVa bonus points
• Five of six losses came to wrestlers who were ranked at time of match

2009-10
• Did not compete; redshirted season while rehabbing from surgery

2008-09
• Went 30-15 as a freshman and qualified for the NCAA Championships
• Defeated Liberty's Shaun Smith (4-1) and lost to Northwestern's Jason Welch (3-2) and No. 7 seed Matt Moley of Bloomsburg (11-1) at NCAAs
• Took third place at the ACC Championships to earn automatic bid to NCAA Championships
• Named to Amateur Wrestling News All-Rookie Team
• Was nationally ranked for a few weeks
• Earned 9-4 decision over then-No. 2 Dan Vallimont of Penn State at Sprawl and Brawl (11/23)
• 11 of his 15 losses came to wrestlers who were ranked at some point during the season
• Won Eastern Michigan Open (11/1)
• Took fourth at Southern Scuffle (12/29-30)
• Named ACC Wrestler of the Week Nov. 25
