Nine Virginia wrestlers competed in the NCAA Championships Thursday (March 21).

2010 NCAA Qualifier - 184 pounds
2010 ACC Champion - 184 pounds

AT VIRGINIA: 2011-12
• Went 5-3 in open tournaments during injury-riddled season
• Went 3-1 in Shorty Hitchcock Classic (1/15)

2010-11
• Went 11-6 and saw limited action because of injuries
• Went 4-0 in ACC regular-season action, with major decision over NC State's KaRonne Jones, decisions over UNC's Zach Bennett and VT's Chris Penny and forfeit vs. Duke
• Three of his four regular-season defeats came to top-10 ranked foes
• Top seed at ACC Championships; was upset in semifinals and took fourth place
• Earned team's Kevin Michaels Heart and Guts Award

2009-10
• Finished 28-10 and earned a berth in the NCAA Championships in his first season
• Named to third team of Amateur Wrestling News' All-Rookie Team
• Went 16-5 in duals and 3-1 in ACC duals; lone ACC loss was 3-1 decision to Virginia Tech's Tommy Spellman
• ACC Champion at 184 pounds
• Became first UVa freshman since Gage Short in 1995 to win ACC title as freshman
• Defeated Spellman on takedown with 12 seconds remaining to win 2-0 in ACC title match
• His win clinched the ACC team championship for Virginia
• Ranked 19th nationally in final AWN and InterMat rankings
• Earned six wins during the season against the NCAA field
• Defeated Nick Tenpenny (UNC), Diego Bencomo (Duke) and Corey Peltier (Maryland) in ACC action
• Took third at Southern Scuffle (12/30), including wins over ACC foes John Barone (Duke), Tenpenny and Spellman
• Wrestled virtually everyone close - in his 10 losses, only two came by more than three points

2008-09
• Redshirted the season
• Went 14-5 while competing in open tournaments
• Was strong in his tournament action, placing in four of his five competitions
• Champion of the Kent State Open (1/18)
• Took second at Wilkes Open (12/28), suffering a narrow loss to Penn State's Phil Bomberger in the championship bout
• Runner-up at Cleveland State Open (12/14)
• Took sixth at Eastern Michigan Open (11/1)
