BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The 16th-ranked Virginia wrestling team dominated its competition Saturday at the Movember Duals, defeating George Mason, 41-3, and host Gardner-Webb, 36-3, in Boiling Springs, N.C. The Cavaliers (5-0) won nine of 10 bouts in each match.
"The guys wrestled really well today," Virginia head coach Steve Garland said. "I saw a lot of guys looking to score points in bunches, and that's something we've been working on. I was really excited with what we did from the top position. We had a lot of guys finishing off matches with pins, starting with Matt Snyder who had two pins and Jedd Moore, who looked phenomenal for the second week in a row.
"All in all, it was a great day. We got a great day's work in, and now we need to focus on Cumberland and Iowa (next week) and the matches coming up. We have our work cut out for us."
