Atkinson Wins 141 Title at F&M Open

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Virginia freshman Andrew Atkinson (Lynchburg, Va.) captured the championship at 141 pounds Saturday at the Franklin and Marshall Open in Lancaster, Pa. It marked the first college title for Atkinson.

Atkinson rolled to the title, recording five straight victories, with all coming in dominating fashion. He recorded a fall, tech fall and major decision as well as two decisions.

In the championship match, Atkinson needed just 1:32 to pin Messiah's Kaleb Loht.

Also in the tournament, Tyler Askey (Fr., Newnan, Ga.) took fourth place at 174 pounds, while Emilio Martinez (Fr., Platteville, Colo.) placed sixth at 133 pounds.
