CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - For the third time this season and for the second consecutive week, University of Virginia wrestler Scott Moore (Franklin, Pa./Franklin Academy), ranked #2 in the nation at 141-pounds, has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Wrestler of the Week. He was also named the ACC Wrestler of the Week on November 24th and January 12. Moore, a 141-pound All-American, is a perfect 30-0 on the season including 3-0 in dual match action with 21 of his 30 victories wins coming by fall.

Moore has taken first place in all six invitationals/tournaments that he has competed in this season. He won the Michigan State Open, Cornell's Body Bar Invitational, the Mat Town USA Invitational, the Collegiate Beast of the East, UNC Greensboro's Southern Scuffle and most recently the Virginia Intercollegiate State Wrestling Championships.

Moore has already shattered the UVa school record for most pins in a single season with his 21 falls (the former school record was 11). His 21 falls currently ties him for fourth all-time at UVa for most falls in a career at Virginia just midway through one season. He is also already tied for 10th all-time for most wins in a single season at Virginia.

Moore and the Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday, January 24th when the UVa begin the home portion of its 2003-04 schedule by hosting a Tri-Meet with the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Davidson Wildcats. Virginia will face North Carolina in an ACC dual match at 1:00 PM before meeting Davidson in a dual match at 4:30 PM. UNC and Davidson are scheduled to meet in a dual match in between UVa's matches with the Tar Heels and the Wildcats. The event is scheduled to take place at Virginia's Memorial Gymnasium.
