CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia wrestling program opens the 2016-17 campaign on Sunday (Nov. 6) when the squad travels to compete at the Clarion Open. Matches begin at 9 a.m. and run throughout the afternoon.

Fans can follow the action through live webcast by FloWrestling.com with a valid subscription.

Virginia returns two NCAA qualifiers from a year ago in junior Andrew Atkinson (Lynchburg, Va.) and senior George DiCamillo (Highland Heights, Ohio). DiCamillo is a three-time ACC Champion after claiming the 2016 ACC Championship at 133 pounds and posting a 29-5 record. The senior will compete at 141 pounds this season. Atkinson posted a 24-11 record a year ago at 157 pounds.

Virginia will continue to wrestle on the road, heading for a dual meet at No. 11 Michigan on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. The Cavaliers will then continue to compete on the road, facing No. 18 Central Michigan at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13.
