Head Coach Joanne Boyle
"I'm so proud of my team. I thought they played a perfect game. I think we played with great tempo. I have a lot of respect for Maryland and they are a great team. It was great to come out and play some really mature basketball. I am really excited."
On second half:
"Everything we have been practicing was put right in the game plan. We have been playing with a lot of confidence recently. I'm managing it and they are running with it. There was a lot of poise throughout the game and we did everything we needed to do to win in the second half."
"It was an emphasis of ours. Our team is really good about taking direction and when we are confident we will follow it to a t. We were really good with that tonight and it showed."
On ball protection:
"We have talked about it. They are maturing in so many ways. We have been emphasizing these things and tonight they delivered. We have some great guards that can handle it. I would use the word maturity right now."
Senior Guard Ataira Franklin
On game: "Everyone was hungry the whole game and that really put us in a great environment to win. I think it shows that we are a resilient team and are starting to come into our own. I think it shows that this is the team we are going to be and are establishing an identity for ourselves."
"We hit a lot of threes early and it definitely helps on the offensive and defensive end when we're knocking down shots and it helps the confidence of the game."
"It was huge. We have thought of Maryland as a rivalry game. Especially in the past years we haven't really competed well with them. Confidence is the key word. We can prove that we can play with these big teams. As a team we feel that if we can believe we can win a game then we can win a game."
Guard Kelsey Wolfe
"This game really signifies that I'm back and I'm okay and that my knees okay. I'm really proud of everyone. Everyone brought it and followed the game plan. We executed well and played a very mature game."
