China Crosby - The Bronx, N.Y.
In her four year Cavalier career, Crosby has had to overcome two devastating knee injuries. She has come back to lead the Cavaliers on the court this season with the point guard starting all 27 games. She was named to the Cavalier Classic All-Tournament team this year for her efforts against Norfolk State and Xavier. She has been a steady point-producer, averaging 6.8 points per game in her career. Her career-best performance was a 25-point scoring effort in a 2011 WNIT game against Charlotte. She is averaging 4.2 assists per game, ranking seventh in the ACC. On Monday, Crosby logged a career-high nine assists against Wake Forest.
Simone Egwu - Odenton, Md.
Egwu has been a mainstay of the starting lineup ever since her freshman year. She has played in 125 career games, with 119 career starts. Earlier this season, she had a three-game stretch where she converted 10 consecutive field goal attempts. Against Norfolk State in December, she went 8-for-8 from the free throw line, part of a 16-point effort. She had a dominating defensive game at Georgia Tech, pulling in 15 rebounds. Egwu is a two-time All-ACC Women's Basketball Academic Team member and was recently named as a recipient of the ACC's Weaver-James-Corrigan Scholarship for her postgraduate studies. Egwu also serves as the president of SAAC.
Telia McCall - Marietta, Ga.
After moving into the starting lineup this year, McCall has become a defensive presence on the court, ranking ninth in the ACC in rebounding, averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. McCall is also having the best season of her career on the offensive end, averaging 8.6 points per game. She has had three career double-doubles, all coming in her senior season. McCall earned a spot in the Cavalier record book when she made 16 free throws in a home game this season against Georgia Tech, part of a career-high 28-point scoring performance. McCall was also named the MVP of the Cavalier Classic tournament after pulling in 26 rebounds in the two games.
Erinn Thompson - Winston-Salem, N.C.
Thompson suffered a fractured tibia in 2009, missing all but three games of her freshman season. She returned to the court, playing in 15 games as a sophomore and 19 last year, eventually developing compartment syndrome in her lower left leg as a result of the initial injury. After also developing extreme chrondromalcia in both knees and partially tearing her left meniscus, the combination of injuries has ended her playing career, but she has still remained active with the women's basketball program, from helping in the office to continuing to be part of the team's strong presence in the Charlottesville community.
